More about the DoggyTug toys
My dog cici gets bored really easily. As you know, she is almost two years old and a Dalmatian pit bull mix and she LOVES to chew up EVERYTHING… I don’t know about you but I have spent a small fortune on toys and she chews them up in a few minutes… plus, she has chewed up everything from my shoes, pillows, sleeping bag, blankets, sheets, eyeglasses (not the glass but the rims), gloves, purses, cardboard, and the only chew toys that keep her occupied for any length of time have been raw bones… and they are icky and messy… so I don’t give them to her very often…
So imagine my delight when I found the DoggyTug toys. Cici loves the green one with the long handle, I knew she would love it when I first saw it because I gave her the belt to my terrycloth robe and she chewed that to shreds, completely tore that up… plus the orange one is attached to a table so she can tug alone… we are having so much fun with these toys… can’t wait to try the floatie one in the water this summer… these are wonderful dog toys … she is very happy tugging along… which makes me a happy camper !
Plus, they LAST… after several days, they are still in ONE piece… a remarkable feat…
The other morning she was playing all by herself (a rarity in itself), she just loves her new tuggy toys…
Now this is a great story about the company:
Kelly Ann Stafford, a former Ford and Dawson Agency model and creator and designer of Doggy Tug, came up with the idea after she was washing her face while wearing a terrycloth headband and it accidentally slipped off and fell on the floor. Bear, her 9-month old Lab, decided he wanted to play tug with it and fought Kelly for the headband (Bear won.). And a new business was born. In addition, a portion of the proceeds of Doggy Tug sales goes to Dog & Kitty City, a no-kill shelter in Dallas, to help abandoned and abused animals. Currently, Doggy Tug sponsors “Lucky,” one of Michael Vicks’ former dogs, to ensure Lucky has everything he needs.
Based in Dallas, TX, Doggy Tug is machine washable and made of non-toxic materials including terrycloth, a tough core of layered industrial elastic interwoven with industrial rubber, and then are sewn with deep sea fishing line for exceptional durability. Created for dogs of all sizes, Doggy Tug is also great for teething puppies or helping to clean dog’s teeth. And there’s even a Doggy Tug for water play!
Doggy Tugs are strong, tough and long-lasting and are meant to be played with by an individual dog, dog-to-dog, or dogs and their human families. Celebrity dog owners and their dogs who play with Doggy Tug include Krista Frazier (former Ms. Hawaiian Tropic), Judd Nelson (”The Breakfast Club”), and Don Henley (The Eagles).
Prices range from $3.99 - $19.99…
Do not place the tug around the animal’s head, legs or any other body part. Always monitor your pet’s playing, exercise and toy durability.
