Pet friendly Aquariums

while waiting to watch Shark Tank, I moseyed over to Animal Planet and Tanked was on. Hadn’t watched an episode in awhile so I checked it out. And guess what, they were doing a dog house aquarium for a vet in Vegas. Cool. Except I fell asleep and missed it.

Good thing that they played the episode again. And this time I was wide awake and watched it. Very cool aquarium for dogs, with a treat dispenser, too.  Dogs like to watch fish swim and try to catch them through the glass. The glass gets scratched but it has some kind of film on there so they can keep it fresh and unscratched. I imagine Cici would LOVE an aquarium like this. Keep her busy stalking the fish. Just do not know how I would make one and am sure that the Tanked guys are not going to make me a cheap one. Oh well. what do you think ? Would your doggies and cats like to have a house aquarium like this ???

So then I decided to google to see if there was an easy way to make an aquarium for your dog. Instead, I found out that some aquariums in cities actually are pet friendly. Check them out below.

If you are looking for something unusual to do for spring break, Easter or summer travel, you might want to include a trip to one of these places with the pooches. And you can always find  pet friendly hotels nearby to stay at with your pooch.

If you go, let us know and if you include a photo or two, and/or a funny or heartwarming story, you just might win a prize or two, right here in doggie city.

are aquariums pet friendly?  well it depends, some just allow service animals (Monterey Bay Aquarium) but this one in Key West is pet friendly, for dogs on leashes

Are you pet friendly?

Yes! Dogs are welcome anytime as long as they are on leashes. The aquarium reserves the right to request the removal of any animal displaying aggressive behavior or for excessive noise.

Blog the change 2013

want to see more of this positive pit bull press…

Imagine if a pit bull and her/his guardian have their own reality show… maybe it would be too boring for reality TV… no fights, no drama, just lots of fun, loving kisses, goofy antics… am thinking of doing a piece about celebs and their pit bulls as well as every day folks and their pit bulls… a day in the life of an ordinary pit bull and their guardian… and the day in the life of a celeb pit bull and their guardian… if you’d like to be part of this, let me know, thanks.

****

Shorty Rossi hinted that Hercules will soon be having his own show on Animal Planet but of course, Hercules and Shorty are not exactly your every day pit bull and guardian, definitely, they are celebs. And were just in our neighborhood at the Bay Area Pet Expo. I did not get a chance to go there. Cici and I attended a couple of years ago and it was much too much stimulation for the Polka Dot Princess.

“Pit Boss” star Shorty Rossie and his pit bull, Hercules, are going to be on Anderson Cooper’s Live Thursday’s show!

During the Golden Globes, there was a cadillac commercial with a brindle pit bull

and since pit bulls are still the most euthanized dogs at shelters, it is really important to support Nathan Winograd’s NoKill Advocacy…There ARE more than enough homes for pets who have been dumped in shelters. More and more shelters are getting on board, reducing their kill rates, so that healthy and treatable pets do not get put down just because there is no room at the shelter, they get ADOPTED into loving homes.

The No Kill Conference is offering free registration to municipal shelter directors. Please help enlist them in the mission to save America’s shelter animals. Contact your local shelter director and let them know.

the ultimate pit bulls

I loved watching the TV series Charmed. And Kaley Cuoco played Billie, a superwitch, who became the Charmed ones friend and helper and for a very short time enemy. Billie and her sister became the Ultimate Power. And of course good won out over evil.

Now, in real life, Kaley Cuoco has THREE rescued pit bulls, one of whom loves a good soak in the hot tub and a dip in the pool to cool off… smart dog… and she brought a video of her pooch with her to share with Ellen DeGeneres…

(Thanks to Robert from Seattle DogSpot for this story and the one about Walgreen’s below)…

and Kaley and her dogs were also on national TV (People’s Choice Awards… cannot imagine Cici being that well behaved, wow, I am impressed

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151171084147161&set=vb.716147160&type=2&theater

It is wonderful having Pit Bulls and Parolees and Pit Boss back on Animal Planet.

pls let Walgreen’s know u do not want them selling pepper spray to hurt pit bulls, the most abused dogs on the planet…we need stupidity repellent not pepper spray… take the spray and signs off their shelves NOW !!!!  seems like Walgreen’s is opening up their company to lawsuits…  if ANY crazy person were to spray my dog with pepper spray, I would sue Walgreen’s and the person, LIABILITY ISSUES

http://www.seattledogspot.com/blog/2013/01/08/walgreens-is-selling-anti-pitbull-pepper-spray

Here’s what Walgreen’s are telling people on their FB page: We apologize to everyone about the pit bull spray that was sold at a few isolated locations. We can assure you that this was not a corporately purchased item. It was never our company’s intent to condone the inappropriate singling out of any one breed of dog. Instead, a very small number of our stores obtained it for sale on their own. As a result of us becoming aware of the product, we have told those few stores who are carrying the item to stop selling it immediately. We also will ensure other locations don’t carry it, too. Thank you and be well.

pain is the pits

I was diagnosed with fibro in 1996… have relieved 98% of my symptoms and agree that PET THERAPY of the pit bull variety kind helps a lot… since pibbles are funny dogs… goofy… warm… cuddly and silly… much comic relief, lots of laugh, plus calming warmth and an abundance of licks… of course I am biased…

pain is the pits… this morning my lower back was hurting, cici is applying her special therapy upon it and my back feels better already…

more about how I have relieved my pain from fibro is here…

loved that Animal Planet had pit bull puppies in their Too Cute segment but miss Pit Bulls and Parolees, which will be on again January 5.  below is just a Dogs 101 segment about American Pit Bull Terriers…

ANIMAL PLANET’S ‘DECISION 2012′

PET CANDIDATES ENTER FINAL CAMPAIGN STRETCH IN ANIMAL PLANET’S ‘DECISION 2012’

– Dog, Cat & Independent Parties Vie for Title of ‘America’s Favorite Pet’ in Online Election –

As we head into the final weeks of the 57th U.S. presidential election, Animal Planet is asking Americans to cast their vote to determine once and for all whether the United States is a dog country, cat country or if there is another pet that best represents this great land. Animal Planet’s Decision 2012, the race to elect America’s favorite pet, opens its polls today at animalplanet.com/decision2012, patriots and pet lovers chose whether the Cat, Dog or Independent party will represent them.

In the race to decide America’s favorite pet, each side has been slinging mud (case in point this brutal attack ad against dogs, paid for by the always controversial Cats for World Domination PAC), but time will tell which party will pull ahead in this hard-fought race. Americans are invited to perform their paw-triotic duty and visit Animal Planet’s Decision 2012 website to get the facts and make an informed decision before casting their ballots.

The pet parties are sparing no expense in getting their messages out to the public, with both Dog and Cat PACs securing airtime on Animal Planet this month for their attack ads. Animal Planet opinion polls currently show that:

  • California, Georgia and Texas lead the nation as “dog-loving” states.
  • The Cat Party dominates the polls in Illinois, Massachusetts and Oregon.
  • Florida, Ohio and Virginia are among the most hotly contested states, with two parties vying closely.

Additionally, while Decision 2012 presents Americans with one defining question, more than 6,000 candidates across parties also are lobbying to serve their country as the “Cutest,” “Smartest,” “Most Talented,” “Most Athletic” and “Funniest” pets. While the United States is primarily two-party system, the Independent party may very well turn Animal Planet’s Decision 2012 on its head.

No matter your party, Animal Planet encourages Americans to exercise their right to vote – for pet and political leaders. For more information on Animal Planet’s Decision 2012, please visit animalplanet.com/decision2012. To find out how to register to vote in the November 6th election, please visit the U.S. Election Assistance Commission website.
