Nat Geo Gone WILD

Premiere of Dog Whisperer … all-new season Saturday, January 7th on new network, Nat Geo WILD.

Highlights of the new season include an episode focusing on dogs suffering from phobias and obsessions, a visit to Fort Hood, Texas, where Cesar takes a handful of four-legged army brats back to boot camp, an intervention for ex-gang members who have turned their lives around but still battle turf wars with their dogs at home and a special Valentine’s Day edition — which is also the 150th episode of the hit series — featuring home-wrecker dogs and the couples who love them.

Immediately following Dog Whisperer, check out Philly Undercover, the new six-part series in which the PSPCA’s undercover police team works to eliminate dogfighting and protect all animals from abuse and neglect. Nat Geo WILD is on the front lines, joining a two-day stakeout that leads to one of the biggest dogfighting busts in Philadelphia’s history — 14 suspects are arrested, and several horribly neglected, abused and injured dogs are saved.  Armed with a hidden camera and a borrowed puppy, the team arrests an underground veterinarian suspected of illegal ear cropping and responds to an extreme case of animal hoarding, where 15 cats are found living in unbearable conditions.

Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Why Dogs Fight

Premieres Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 8:00 PM ET/PT

Why would two well-behaved and personable dogs suddenly and violently attack each other?  Cesar reveals how dogs communicate through their energy and body language, to help resolve a potentially disastrous situation.  Two Jack Russell terriers, Ruby and Jinx, have lived together for years but have begun fighting aggressively every time they are anywhere near each other. Their owner, Sandy Hill, has rearranged her life to keep the two dogs separated at all times.  Sandy believes that if she doesn’t intervene when the dogs start to fight, it will become a battle to the death.

Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan: Bull-Whipped

Premieres Saturday, January 7, 2012, at 9:00 PM ET/PT (special time slot)

Cesar steps in to confront a schoolyard bully who is terrorizing doggy day care.  At their best, bulldogs are calm, loveable and dignified dogs that make for amazingly loyal companions.  At their worst, they can be brutish and stubborn.  Cesar travels to Santa Barbara to meet Hugo, a 3-year-old bulldog with a major mean streak.  After a full day with him, Cesar realizes there is no quick fix for Hugo’s aggression, so it’s off to rehab at Cesar’s Dog Psychology Center.  Then Cesar heads to UCLA, where he meets Crusty, a bulldog expelled after one day in doggy day care who now must overcome his dominance issues if he’s ever going to graduate at the top of his class.

Philly Undercover: Fight Night
Saturday, January 7, at 10 p.m. ET/PT (sneak preview)

A covert surveillance operation with the PSPCA undercover team leads to one of the biggest dogfighting busts in Philadelphia’s history — 14 suspects are arrested, and several horribly neglected, abused and injured dogs are rescued.  The full-scale investigation began two days earlier.  Officer Wayne Smith takes to the streets of a drug-infested neighborhood to collect intel using a hidden camera and a rescued pit bull as a decoy.  Meanwhile, Officers Nicole Wilson and Jason Martinez stake out a convicted dogfighter with a long criminal history.  Just moments after they document a critical meeting between the suspect and a known dog breeder, a neighborhood “scout” marks their vehicle, forcing them to quickly flee the scene.  After some dangerously close calls, the cops mount a raid on the fight location.

Philly Undercover: The Raid

Monday, January 9, at 9 p.m. ET/PT (regular night & time)

Undercover PSPCA cops are on a rescue mission after busting up an illegal dogfight and arresting 14 suspected fighters.  The suspects could soon be released on bail, so the unit must race to raid properties and save as many dogs as possible.  The team finds starved and dehydrated dogs covered in feces, dogs caged in complete darkness and even 12-week-old puppies.  In total, 41 dogs are rescued from five properties across the city — a crippling blow to the illegal and brutal underground sport.  The raid angers many suspected fighters, and Chief Investigator George Bengal receives death threats.
